One of the most helpful activities to help increase productivity is yoga and meditation. Practising yoga and meditation stimulates your mind and body. Meditation, if done right, can help you completely relax and significantly increase focus.
Yoga helps you stretch out the muscles that get sore from sitting in one place for a long time. A combination of the two for a mere 20 minutes can get you recharged for the next ninety minutes of studying.
2. Healthy Snacking
Did you know that if you chew a particular gum while studying, and take the same flavoured gum while giving your test, your subject recall will be much higher? Although snacking is a very good option, don’t resort to bingeing on sugary or fried foods.
Stay away from packaged chips and cold-drinks. Try something healthy, like cut carrots, cucumber, a nice serving of hummus, nuts like almonds and walnuts, or even plain avocado. Stick to foods that will not make you feel heavy or bloated, will increase your focus and keep your mind alert.
3.Take a walk
Walking is considered to be the best form of exercise and a nice 15-minute walk between your study sessions can thoroughly open up your mind. Careful though, don’t just walk around in your house.
Step outside and take in the fresh air. A good workout releases endorphins, leading to a positive mind that aids higher retention and willingness to learn.
4.Nap it Out
A well-rested mind is a high functioning mind. Our body heals and rejuvenates itself during sleep. When you study for a long stretch, you may not be physically tired, but your mind does get exhausted.
A good way to wake up from the exhaustion is to take a small nap, very popularly known as a power nap. It gives you the kick-start you need to take on the rest of the day and keeps you going for a longer time.
5. Watch Refreshing Content
After a long hard day, most of us choose to sit in front of a screen and immerse ourselves in a good movie or a nice series.
It gives us a break from the monotonous life and allows us an escape to a world where there is laughter, thrills, and drama.
When you’ve been studying for ninety minutes or more, a wonderful way to unwind is by switching to your streaming network and finding something interesting to watch. But time yourself and don’t overstep your break time watching shows.
